VCE Mathematical Methods Unit 3 and 4 contains four Areas of Study:

  1. Functions and graphs
  2. Algebra
  3. Calculus
  4. Probability and Statistics

The Maths Methods exams are designed to cover a broad selection of topics from each area of study. However, some topics tend to be assessed more heavily than others. It can be helpful for students to be aware of which topics are assessed most frequently.
The size of each sector in the chart below reflects the weight given to each topic in past VCAA exams.

You can also click the "Colour by difficulty" button to see which topics have been the most challenging for students in past years.
